Community Clubs
It's easy to find something of interest in Pine Meadows given the variety of clubs and activities. Most activities take place at the Community Centre and are regularly scheduled on the Social Calendar. All activities and clubs are initiated and managed by members. All residents are welcome to join any of the clubs or activities at anytime. If you don't find an activity or club of interest to you and you have a suggestions, or if you would like to start a new group or club, please contact the Social Director using the Contact Form.

Artist Corner

Our group meets every Wednesday from 9:00 am to noon. Share the friendly conversation, good music, and a warm cup of your favourite beverage. Beginners are very welcome and receive help.

Each month, we select a featured artist and display their artwork prominently over the fireplace. You will notice that a wide selection of paintings by our members are displayed throughout our Community Centre.

Once a year, usually during the month of October, we hold our annual art show and invite community residents and their friends to join us. We select a special theme project that members work on and display during our art show.

Book Club

The Pine Meadows Book Club meets in the lower level library area of the community centre, on the third Wednesday of each month except July and August from 1:30 p.m.-3:00 p.m.  It is meant to be an informal, relaxed sharing of favourite reads. Each participant gives a brief description of a book that they have read and enjoyed. It is hoped that participants will come away with a title and/or author or two to put on their “To Read” list.

Coffee & Chat

Our Coffee and Chat times continue at the Community Center on the Second and Fourth Thursdays at 10:00 am throughout the year.

We are enjoying the fellowship with all who attend, and we have been having some of our ‘newer ‘residents coming out and taking the opportunity to meet their neighbours in a smaller group setting.

Looking forward to seeing many of you. Please mention this to your neighbours and friends, especially newcomers.

Hobby and Games Night

Hobby and Games Night is on every 2nd Tuesday evening from 6:30pm to 8:30pm.

Join us for an informal, drop-in evening. Bring any project you are working on and spend an evening chatting with fellow hobbyist while you work.

Learn what your neighbours are working on and share your interests and expertise with others, or bring along your favorite game for others to enjoy.

We're interested in any of your hobby - diamond painting, model making, paper crafts, 3-D printing, knitting - basically anything that is portable.

Men's Golf Group

The members of the men's Golf Group play together once or twice per week at a variety of golf courses in the Ottawa region. Members usually organize golf outings on Mondays and Thursdays and form foursomes based on the number of players who have signed up for a particular date and course. Other days may be considered if special rates apply to weekdays or category of golfer such as "senior special rate". Individual members volunteer to take turns to book tee times for the whole group. Members are expected to organize at least two golf outings per golf season. Carpooling is encouraged and organized by the lead for each outing.

After friendly rounds of golf, members meet for 19th Hole socializing at the Community Centre and are joined by non-golfers who enjoy socializing with their neighbours.

The Golf Group meets every Monday and Thursday from 3:00-5:00 pm during the off-season to practice their 19th hole "shots" and "storytelling" techniques. Check the monthly calendar for times and locations. If you are interested in joining, check the sign-up sheets on the exterior bulletin board outside the upper entrance during the golfing season.

A list of golfers can be found here.
